Yale University

Yale Universityis a private Ivy League research university which is located in New Haven, Connecticut of United State. A group of congregation list ministers and chartered by the colony of Connecticut founded Yale University in 1701. It is the third-oldest institution of higher education in the United States. Later on in 1918, Yale University was renamed as Yale College in recognition of gift from a governor of the British East India Company.

Yale University has both undergraduate and graduate programs. During 19^th century it incorporated graduate and professional instruction. It was awarded the first Ph.D in the United States in 1861 and later on in 1887 organized as a university. Yale University is governed by the Yale Corporation. It has twelve constituent schools. The undergraduates of Yale colleges follow a liberal arts curriculum which is organized into a system of residential college. The library of Yale University serves all twelve schools. It has more than 15 million volumes and it is the third largest academic library in the United States. Among them almost all faculties teach undergraduate courses somehow more than 2000 of which are offered annually. Along with the increase in the number of undergraduates, Yale has even a large number of graduate notable alumni. Fifty two Nobel laureates have been affiliated to this university as many students, staffs or faculties have been graduated from this university. Yale is only the college in Connecticut which educates the sons of the elite.
