University of Chicago

The University of Chicago is a private non denomination at co educational research based university located in Chicago, Illinois of United States. It was founded by the American Baptist Education Society with a donation from oil magnate and John D. Rockefeller. The University of Chicago was incorporated in 1890. But the first classes were held in 1892. The curriculum of Chicago is based upon theoretical and perennial issues rather than the applied sciences and commercial utility.

 Chicago is well known for its professional schools which include the School of medicine, the School of Business, Law School, and Divinity School. University of Chicago has six professional schools and a school of continuing education along with various graduate programs and interdisciplinary committees with four divisions. The total enrollment of student in this college is about 5000 and in overall it has 15000 students enrolled. A large number of students are enrolled in this university. The University of Chicago has even the scholarships to their students according to various courses and various fields.

University of Chicago has a vital role in development of various academic disciplinesincluding the Chicago school of economics, the law and economics movement in legal analysis, the Chicago school of sociology, and the Chicago school of religion, the Chicago school of literacy criticism, the physics, and the school of political science. The university is also the home of the University of Chicago Press in the Unites States. It is even home of many prominent alumni. It has won 89 Nobel laureates.
